The father and widow of a Muncie man fatally shot three months ago want a judge to reject a proposed plea bargain for the man charged in his death. 24-year-old Jason Hoskins pleaded guilty last month to reckless homicide in the death of 38-year-old Robert Lee Smith, who was shot as he drove his van in a neighborhood in southeast Muncie. Hoskins originally was charged with murder. The shooting victims father, Rick Smith, says he would instead prefer the investigation of his sons death continue, even if means Hoskins being released. Robert Smiths widow, Karla, says the maximum six-year sentence Hoskins faces isnt enough.
