The federal election was a referendum on the forest deal, and the people have spoken. Now it is time that Labor and the Greens listened. This was a deal done by Labor with big business, big union and big environment to lock up assets that belong to all Tasmanians. There is now a clear mandate to undo the terrible damage done by Labor and the Greens to regional communities as a result of this job destroying deal. The state government must respect the verdict of Tasmanians, and commit to working with the new federal government to rebuild the forest industry.
