The fight to stop the Ebola epidemic in West Africa brings unprecedented opportunity and imperative for the U.S. and Cuban governments to cooperate for the public good. Cuba already has 165 volunteer medical staff on the ground in Sierra Leone, with another 300 on their way tomorrow, October 21, to Liberia and Guinea; while the US has sent health specialists from the CDC, offered funding, and directed over 500 military personnel to Liberia thus far to set up new field hospitals and a training site for new health workers.
