The first 2 days of the Habitat Rx invasive plant removal program - TopicsExpress

The first 2 days of the Habitat Rx invasive plant removal program have been very successful! This installments focus has been on popcorn trees. Like most invasive plants, popcorn trees out-compete the native plants in an ecosystem for food, sunlight, nutrients and space. As the native plant populations decline, so do the native wildlife and insect populations. These species rely on native plants to sustain life, as they provide them with habitat and a food source. As you can see, invasive plants have a HUGE impact on the health and balance of an ecosystem! For the reasons listed above, CBA encourages choosing native plants when landscaping and gardening!
