The first MER project study visit will be held in Nice (FR) from 4th to 6th November 2013 in cooperation with the partner “Chamber of Commerce and Industry Nice and Côte d’Azur”. A delegation composed by high level representatives and experts from 9 countries will deepen its knowledge on different issues that are also the core topics of MER project: urban planning and development in a sustainable development perspective, green marketing, green economy, as well as requalification of brown fields and industrial areas. The first day will be focused on the visit of the Industrial Zone de Signes and particularly on the architectural quality and its ISO 14001 certification. The Industrial Area of Aroma Grasse, the Pole Azure Provence with its incubator will be visited on the second day, that will end up with the visit of the Carros Industrial Area. Various themes will be tackle during the visits: from the industrial area sustainable redevelopment to the supply of innovative and common services based on industrial ecology, marketing, accessibility, good communication with stakeholders and local authorities. During the third and last day at the port of Nice it will be held a Workshop organised following the “ignite model”. Fifteen presentations will be given on how to communicate and how to convince local authorities to accept and develop an industrial park following high standard requirements. The participants will also discuss and share best practices and lesson learned within the partnership on such topics. A documentary on the study visit will be made and spread up through the MER project communication channels (website, Facebook and You Tube).
