The first couple of pictures are simply to get your attention... the link for where is at the end of this post, a place called Toguchi Beach. Theres a restaurant and meat shop there along with a great beach area and big park for the kiddos. The shop recently opened and has but 3 menu items so far; great Okinawa Soba, really great Tonkatsu or fried pork cutlet (see the picture) and a bone-in grilled pork steak. All are sets and come with sides, etc. The Tonkatsu and the pork steak were awesome. Now, theres also a butcher shop selling Okinawa natural Beni-buta pork. there are but three farms that raise them and all products come packaged with an ID number that lets you trace the meat back to its origin via the web (see photos). The owners were nice enough to let me take photos of the meat cases and there are plenty of cuts to choose from. theres even local pork and goya filled gyoza! Dinner was amazing, the fried pork cutlet was really tender and juicy at nearly an inch thick. They are open from 11AM to 10PM and are closed on Wednesdays. The view in the evening is fantastic. Look for the menu options to expand. Pork hamburgers meant to be frypan cooked were 250 yen each and there were pork sausage links as well. Theres a budding gourmet foods case with huge green olives, blue and camembert cheeses and a few other items. I would really like to see this place thrive in Yomitan.
