The first thing on this page Id like to post about is.. A Budget! Mostly everyone has one. It is easier than you think to cook delicious meals on a Budget, You just have to have a Game Plan! Start with one or two ingredients that you know you want to cook with. The rest is easy. There are so many things that go together. So many many things you can create and call your own! One Recipe that my children LOVED... Was something particular.. but at the same time NOT AT ALL! I was broke.. and we didnt have much food! Hey it happens and one thing that being poor teaches you.. is to be resourceful! So I searched my pantry, cabinets and my fridge.. to see what I had and what went together. I found Turkey Bacon, shredded cheddar cheese,a box (yes a box lol) of mac and cheese and some canned french style green beans. Now normally, I wouldnt THINK of putting these things together.. but circumstances called for immediate action! So, I cut the Turkey Bacon into quarters.. about a inch thick.. and fried them in a pan. I took the Boxed Mac and Cheese and cooked it according to the directions.. added some salt and some oil (any olive oil, vegetable, corn even a teaspoon of butter will suffice). Once the Turkey Bacon was done (Turkey Bacon is not like regular Bacon.. Its not as moist.. and it takes a little longer to get a crisp.. but once it gets crisp.. it only takes seconds to over cook and become burnt.. even if it gets burnt.. no worries.. youre going to throw it in with the mac and cheese which will soften it slightly) Put the Turkey Bacon on a plate lined with a paper towel and let it stand while you finish the mac and cheese.. Once the mac and cheese is drained add the turkey bacon, french style green beans and all ingredients on the box in bowl and mix together. I add a little Adobo which is one of my favortie ingredients ;) Preheat the oven to about 375. Take a deep dish Baking Pan or Casserole dish and add the mix of ingredients from the bowl. Layer them evenly and then sprinkle with about 1/4 to 1/2 cup shredded cheese (depending on how much cheese you like. I LOVE cheese!) and bake for about 5-7 mins uncovered. My Family and I like that extra crunch.. so after about 6 mins.. I put the oven on Broil for about 2-3mins. Let it stand for about 5 mins and then Serve! Like I said... this recipe came from resourcefulness. The possibilities are endless as what you can really do with this! You could use regular Bacon, Chicken, Ground Meat or Pork. You could use regular pasta (any kind) you could use fresh garlic.. chopped onions.. brocccoli.. spinach.. tomatoes.. Add french fried onions.. Bread crumbs.. Anything you know your family would LOVE! At the End of The Day.. The purpose of cooking is to feed your loved ones and have FUN doing it! No matter your Budget! And MOST importantly, The ULTIMATE ingredient in your cooking.. should be.. LOVE!
