Another Review! First Person Shooter is Spot On! Review by Catherine Gong Spit flew, guns loaded, and many, many f-bombs were dropped during SCU Presents emotionally charged production of First Person Shooter, an Aaron Loeb play. Though the title alludes to a plot centered on violent video games, thats only where the fun begins: the play branches out to explore issues like the misrepresentation of events by digital media, racism, and the overarching problem of societal desensitization due to overexposure. All of these topics are not just gently touched on, but hit on hard through the script, character development, and visual effects. By fusing this depth with humor and a central uplifting message, SCU succeeds in producing a satisfying watch that also prompts thought and discussion, the trademark of every great play. Overall, I was impressed by the all-around superb acting and the attention given to details by the entire crew, especially co-directors Camille Hayes and Aldo Billingslea. #scufirstpersonshooter
