The fiscal priority of any sensible and prudent government should - TopicsExpress

The fiscal priority of any sensible and prudent government should be to pay its staff salaries abidingly on the 1st of every month. A government which fails to do this shows signs and symptoms of bad governance. The Public Prosecutors and Assistant Public Prosecutors in South Goa have not been paid since January. This is the sordid tale in many other departments too. How does this government expect the staff and their families to survive? We have just witnessed a very pompous Carnival and there will soon be an equally colorful Shigmo. A sign of very awful governance, when the State sponsors fun and frolic while its coffers are empty. This government has been on a borrowing spree. How long will it be able to sustain such lavish spending? We all know that the condition of the exchequer is very precarious. Despite this the government has been squandering money on wrong and skewed priorities. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar should stop lying to us that all is well, despite the State being in a downright debt trap.
