The following comment is my addition to a thread on SpartanMags football forum which began with an observation on how MSU gear currently overshadows maize & blow on the crowds attending the Detroit International Auto Show. It evolved into comments on academic reputation. Recent attempts by Jim Harbought, Ms new two-time Super Bowl loser football coach, to flip MSU recruits is sending the rancor level of our non-rivalry (UMs considered opinion) to levels far beyond the imagination of OSU fans. M.A.C. refers to Michigan Agricultural College, the commonly accepted name for our college which existed between 1855 and 1925 when it was changed to Michigan State College. The latter name was acceptable to the great University of Michigan only after of Agriculture and Applied Sciences was added to the name and school seal (and not removed until my undergrad days). Do Spartans really despise our ugly big sister? I rate our sibling relationship at the Cain & Abel level.
