The following information has been sent to the ABC and to Dr Nitschke and now I would like to share my decisions so the world can see that I have the right to decide about my exit from this world, when the time is right for me. Placing this in writing will help my family, friends and myself to realise these are my personal wishes and I am very comfortable with this. I would like the Media to know that I fully support the education for self induced euthanasia that is provided by Dr Nitschke. I commend him for taking the advocacy role in this country. I want my family and friends to know that when the time comes if my quality of life regardless of reason has deteriorated to the point that they no longer see me as I was, I want them to have the right to makes decisions for me to go to sleep peacefully and with respect. If I am able I will carry this out myself. It is not for anyone else regardless of religious and other beliefs to tell me what I can and cant do. I have worked for 53 years in the health system and during that time may elderly people who clear were not for resuscitation were revived with their quality of life null and void. My mother is 93 years, institutionalised with Alzheimers her quality of life is zero, she is no long our mother and she is diminishing slowly, bruised through fragile skin being handled sometimes roughly, multiple falls, multiple fractures, absolutely futile. So please make sure you report both sides because not everyone wants to be kept alive unnecessarily for the sake of archaic laws and religious reasons.
