The following information is directly from the National Weather Service: Issued at: 2:00 AM EDT 7/1/13, expires at: 2:00 AM EDT 7/2/13 The NWS in state college has expanded the Flash flood watch to include a portion of central Pennsylvania, Including The Following areas, Adams, cumberland, Franklin Through late tonight. Recent rains have left the ground wet and most streams are running above normal. Bands of training, Heavy Showers And thunderstorms could bring as much as 2 or 3 inches of rain in less than one hour, Causing Localized Flash flooding. The heaviest rain and best chance of flooding will likely occur this morning into this afternoon. Normal low lying areas, As Well As smaller streams could see flooding develop quickly as localized downpours develop and move north across the area. Precautionary/preparedness actions, A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued. (7)
