BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHED, SOUTH AUSTRALIA Drew Casper-Richardson, Sunday September 7, 2014 - 10:21 EST (Image - Bureau Of meteorology - Colour Forecast/4 days) A vigorous cold front is set to sweep through South Australia on Monday bringing the early spring warmth to a windy end. Sunday will be windy throughout the state, giving South Australians a taste of what is to come. The cold front has already brought gusts in excess of 100km/h to exposed coastal parts of south Western Australia. This front will continue its march across the south of the nation and enter South Australias West Coast during Monday afternoon. Exposed parts of the West Coast, including Ceduna, can expect gusts to reach 100km/h with the passage of the front. Winds will strengthen throughout Monday in Adelaide as the cold front approaches. The front itself will move through during the evening with the peak winds coming just ahead of and just behind the front. Although winds wont be as strong as exposed coastal parts, the City of Churches could still have gusts of around 80km/h with the Mt Lofty Ranges reaching 90km/h. Winds will ease briefly early on Tuesday morning for Adelaide however another cold front will bring a renewed burst of wind during the afternoon. weatherzone.au/news/batten-down-the-hatches-sa/136235
