The following is an update provided to the RHDH School Steering Team by Herb Steeves of the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board on March 24, 2014: Hello The Sponsor Group for the River Hebert School Project met on Friday, March 14, 2012, to oversee and review the work?s progress. The Sponsor Group includes representatives from the Chignecto Central Regional School Board, Nova Scotia Department of Education and the NS Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal. From the meeting, the foundation work for the new elementary wing is continuing and nearing completion. The structural steel is expected to be on site by the end of March 2014 and subsequently will begin being used in erection of the new building section. Overall the project is on budget and scheduled for final completion in May 2015. However, originally the intention was for the new elementary wing to be completed and ready for use for the beginning of September 2014. The contractor has indicated that this work will now be completed in November 2014. The next update will be following the sponsor Group meeting scheduled for April.
