The following is the service I received from Specsavers - TopicsExpress

The following is the service I received from Specsavers Potchefstroom at West Acers shopping complex, and the reason I am putting this on Facebook is because when I went there to collect my spectacles there was no manger or owner available to speak to me about my problem after been told that they will be there when collecting my stuff. I made an appointment for the 1st of December 2014 for 15:00 and I arrived at 14:30 I was politely told to wait on one of the chairs available. As I was sitting there a few customers came in to collect their stuff and they were told that they first have to pay the full amount outstanding before they get their spectacles but they can make arrangements to pay the amount off and after paying the full amount they can get there spectacles. My turned arrive I was help by a very professional male optometrist after that I went to the ladies at the counter where one of them told me that I must pay R244 now!! Or they will not proceed with my spectacles. I was not given the option that they gave to the clients who came before me. Afrikaans is my first language so I fully understand what was communicated to them and let me say it they were all white. I didn’t have money with me so I went back the following day to pay the money. On Wednesday I received a call from one of the ladies working there saying to me that my Medical aid will not pay for anything. I asked her why because that is a benefit that I last used in 2012, I phoned the medical aid and they told me that they will pay and Specsavers Potchefstroom never send a claim to them, the last contact with them was on the 1st of December the day they told them that they will pay for all I must just pay the R244 witch they the medical aid will pay back to me. I phone Specsavers again and told them what the medical aid just told me and than the lady told me that they will not pay because she know and she is working with them everyday. So I asked her how can you know if you haven’t send in the claim, she replied again “I know because this is my job I am doing it everyday” So I told her fine, I will contact my medical aid again and I did not. On Friday someone ells called me from Specsavers and they told me the medical aid will pay. I collect my stuff on Monday and no one was interested in telling me that they are sorry for what happened I asked where is the manager or the owner they told me no one was in and the owner is on holiday the manager just comes in in the morning. So there is my story about the servers of Specsavers Potchefstroom. I really feel I was treated differently for what reason you can tell me but I will never ever go there again because I am black and I didn’t get the service white people was getting from the white ladies who are working there. I am not a racist or I am not trying to make this a racial issue but it is and to the ladies who are working there “Skrik wakker, ons almal is mense en ons gaan vra nie spectacles verniet nie ons betaal vir dit so asb. hanteer almal dieselfde moet nie verskillende dienste het vir verskillende rasse groepe nie of mense wat nie jou taal praat nie”
