The following post lists the Jan 2015 hikes in White Clay Creek State Park lead by the Wilmington Trail Club (wilmingtontrailclub.org). You are welcome to join these hikes. Meet at 9:00 a.m. for a 12+ mile fast paced hike, bring water, lunch, snack. Leader: Terri Tipping. January 14, Judge Morris Estate, Newark DE Be ready to start from the Judge Morris Estate Parking Lot at 9:00 a.m. The hike will be 9-10 miles at moderate pace. Bring lunch, snacks, and water. Leader: Peggy Bell. January 14, White Clay Creek State Park, Carpenter parking area. Meet for 9:00 a.m. start for 12+ miles at a fast pace. Bring water, lunch, snack. No parking fee. Leaders: John and Ann Foster January 21, White Clay Creek State Park (Nine Foot Road), DE. Be ready to depart at 9:00 a.m. from the Nine Foot Road parking area. This hike will be 8-9 miles at a moderate pace and relatively flat. Wear boots for possible muddy/snowy/icy conditions and bring lunch and water. Leader: Mike Duffy. January 18, White Clay Creek State Park, Nine Foot Road, DE. Meet at 1:00 p.m. in the parking lot of Nine Foot Road for a 2-hour easy paced hike. Be prepared for wet or icy spots. Leader: Franz J. Portmann. January 25, White Clay Creek State Park, Chambers Rock Road Lot, Newark, DE. Meet at 1:30 p.m. at the parking lot off Chambers Rock Road. This will be about a 5-6-mile moderate paced hike in the park. Leader: Chip Fogg (H: 302/655-6627). January 28, Middle Run, White Clay Creek State Park, DE. Be ready to depart at 9:00 a.m. from the Possum Hill parking area off Smith Mill Road. This hike will be 8-9 miles at a moderate pace and relatively flat terrain. Wear boots for possible muddy/snowy/icy conditions and bring lunch and water. Leader: Carol Ireland. January 31, WCCSP – Judge Morris Estate 14 or 17 miles at a fast pace. Meet at the Judge Morris parking lot on Polly Drummond Hill road (directly across from the DNREC yard waste site) for 9:00 a.m. start. We will hike at least 14 miles with options to hike more. Bring water, snacks, lunch. Leader: Terri Tipping.
