The following story did happen in the 60s although its of very little historical importance LOL!!!! Oprah Winfrey, is without doubt one of the wealthiest women in the world......for the past few days she has been bringing to the attention of the world in general about an incident where she went into a shop in Switzerland and when requesting to see a certain handbag priced claw believes at around pounds sterling 24,000.00 – no, an extra nought was not added in error, 24 thousand was the figure given on TV...WTF!!!! can a handbag be so posh as to cost that much????? The sales lady in her poor ignorant stance refused three times to show her the bag telling her it was too expensive!! This leads to the point of today’s post......never judge a book by it’s cover. This story brought to mind two incidents which happened in the past (almost pre rindepest days) Wherein lies a lesson. A ‘’lady’’ walked into a car sales showroom (she, looking rather scruffy and rather rough) nobody would go and serve her. A very close relative of Mrs C’s stepped up to the plate and offered to assist her. She pointed to a rather expensive car and said she would like to purchase it. She was told the price and without blinking an eyelid brought out the cash for the full price (much to the amazement of the other sales staff) She had had a lucky win on the horses and the rest is history. The sales person in question made a nice commission and he, too learned a valuable lesson. (although being brought up in the bosom of Mrs C.’s family he really already knew this) On the other hand, Mrs C. who has always been a bit of a choat and very frivolous walked into a store one day and was busy trying on all the sunglasses (probably annoying the sales person with her indecision and generally upsetting the display......On enquiring about the price of a rather expensive pair (she, always has an eye for the posh, - champagne taste and beer money) was told by the assistant ‘’These are very very expensive’’ to which Mrs Claw retorted “I’ll take two pairs please’’ LMFAO.........................................
