The funny thing about Sonic Boom is that its supposed to be a spin-off series that introduces kids to a new world of Sonic and stuff, but it does NOTHING in the ways of explaining shit. Ryse of Lyric and Shattered Crystal serve as prequels meant to set up the cartoon on Cartoon Network, but neither game explains shit. They both go with the hardy belief that anyone who plays them already has knowledge about Sonic, his friends, his rivals, his enemies, and everything Sonic. If youre a first-time Sonic player and Boom unfortunately happens to be your first Sonic game, youre not gonna know shit. The only way you can understand is to go back and play previous Sonic games or watch older Sonic shows. Boom not explaining anything is made all the more confusing when random characters show up out of nowhere for like 30 seconds and then disappear for the rest of the game as if youre already supposed to know who they are, what they want, etc.
