The girly wakes at the butt crack of dawn this morning (any time before 8:00 am) and, instead of kicking me until I get up, gets a box of cereal and watches television somewhere else in the house. When I finally stir, she is being quiet and hasnt destroyed anything. (No, I am not exaggerating. Ask anyone who had met her and/or been in our house.) I am so thrilled by this sweet sight, I agree to her request for a dish of Nutella and a spoon. She snacks happily, and I curl up in bed again with a kitty and a book. When I emerge an hour later (9:00 am), she has put her dish and spoon in the sink and still has not set off any girly-bombs in the house (i.e. strewn toys/art supplies everywhere). I am dumbfounded by my incredible luck and her awesome restraint, so I make her toaster strudel and share the coffee with her (half milk, 1/4 french vanilla creamer, 1/4 coffee--so gross, but she loves it). I realize I have just rewarded her behavior with piles of sugar, but I do not care. This. This is what I dream of. Saturday morning success. Go us!
