The good Lord broke the mold when He created my Grandmother, Dixie - TopicsExpress

The good Lord broke the mold when He created my Grandmother, Dixie Lee Zinkhon(pictured on my cover) the Lord blessed her to live until the age of 93. The oldest living member of her family. She would give you the shirt off her back and her last dollar in her wallet without any hesitation. Our family always joked that she had “wheels on her heels” she was always on the go catching a Greyhound bus up until her early 80’s. She never had a driver’s license and after Grandpa passed she always hitched a ride. She went to the beauty shop regularly and wore nothing but, Mary Kay products. Grandma and Grandpa owned a 4 room house raised 4 kids of their own along with many other family members. Grandma believed in honoring her father and mother she stood by them in sickness while attending to her own household. She and Grandpa sacrificed so, much for others. Grandma and Grandpa never turned one person away even when they had nothing for themselves they made the best of the situation and lent a helping hand. They may not had earthly wealth but, they had unconditional LOVE to hand out. They are the reason why I am where I am now in my life and I am so, grateful. Thank You Grandma and Grandpa Zinkhon for taking me to church when I was little. Thank you Grandpa for buying the Singing Cooke’s Gospel records and taking me to the Songfest at Springfork Baptist Church. Thank you Grandma for buying me a new dress when I came for a visit and we went to church. Thank you for all the times you helped the homeless, penniless and the hungered. Your testimonies and beliefs have not gone un- noticed! Your loving grand daughter Cynthia
