The good news...my house isnt falling down ! YAY !!! The structural engineer said the very hot, dry summer weve had had made the trees very dry and the ones around the house have taken the moisture from under the house, hence the cracks. He also said that as the weather gets wetter the moisture will return to the soil and the cracks will close up to hairline cracks...(this is the theory anyway) He is however going to send a report and recommend that some trees be removed and/or reduced in height as this problem can accure again if we have more extreme weather...I will sleep better tonight
