The governor of Osun State, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, has described the fertilizer distribution policy of the Federal Government in Osun State as a failure, just as he canvassed for a non-interest loan scheme for farmers in the country. The governor, who was speaking as a participant at a forum entitled:Growing Agriculture At the State Level at the ongoing 19th Nigerian Economic Summit in Abuja, stated that the Federal Government fertilizer distribution policy had failed woefully as not one single farmer in the state got the Federal Government fertilizer being distributed by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture. A a result of this, Governor Aregbesola said the government of Osun State had to cough out N1billion to procure fertilizer for farmers in the state. ============================= This issue is decades old...and has seriously hampered the capacity of the country to feed itself...if as a governor you can correct the error in your state..please do...and dont forget to buy tractors also
