~The grandloves and I are settled down and watching 19 Kids And Counting.... Jim Bob has taken Jill and Derrick to an auction to find furniture and fixtures for their new house after Having a counseling session on finances with Jim Bob and Michelle. I am sitting here remembering the week before I came back to Arkansas to get married I went to an auction with my Daddy. I remember Daddy bidding on an 11 piece set of copper bottomed cookware and winning the bid at $9.00. I was so proud of that set of cookware, and I was so proud that my Daddy had bought them just for me. I remember a few weeks later going to an auction with Bos Mom and Dad and they bought us a sofa for $9.00! I washed that couch up and was so proud to have it. I also remember asking Bos Mom and Dad to help me with my checkbook and show me how that they did their finances. I was only seventeen, but I realized from watching them that they were always so disciplined with their money. I will never forget how helpful they were and how Bos Dad talked to me like I was his own daughter. He never said much back then to anyone, so I felt very special. lol I always cherished those moments with them teaching us, and showing us the ropes of running home finances. Of course, we did not master their example and instruction for a few years being so young, but I listened intently and took notes! Things were so tight for a long time, but it finally all came together and I learned how to run a home budget. I am so grateful for their concern in our lives and their love in wanting for us to be successful. I am so grateful for all of the times they answered questions and warned us of potential pitfalls. Of course we made mistakes and pushed our boundaries the first few years, but we finally got the swing of income and expenditures. We were so Blessed to have their counsel and direction. Such sweet sweet memories.
