The greenhouse year – June By June many young plants and seedlings should have been moved out of the greenhouse giving you a little space to breath. It’s a welcome moment of calm after the hectic schedule of spring sowing, pricking out and potting on. That’s not to say there’s nothing to do – far from it. Greenhouse crops and flowers will be growing rapidly, and it’s essential you keep on top of regular feeding and watering to ensure the best blooms and tastiest harvest. Also keep a careful eye on temperatures, opening vents and fitting shading if the heat under glass becomes fierce. And don’t forget to enjoy this time of year, taking pleasure in the gentle tinkering and pottering that’s required – harvest is just around the corner and you’ll be busy again before you know it.
