The gullibility of Ndi Igbo in Nigeria politics is their greatest - TopicsExpress

The gullibility of Ndi Igbo in Nigeria politics is their greatest achilles-heel. Why blame Atahiru Jega for exploiting your willful gullibility? The man is simply taking advantage of your natural opportunities which you failed to use. It is only an Igbo man that will sacrifice anything to sustain one Nigeria while scorning his background and ancestry. Whereas such cannot be said of other ethnic groups which would first protect their ancestral heritage and homeland before toying with any One Nigeria. Igbos will be the first to discard and scorn their traditional and cultural dressings while proudly embracing the cultural outfits of other ethnic groups. But will turn around to complain when insulted for the same purpose. Everyday, Igbos troop to the Northern and Western part of Nigeria to establish, building mansions, industries, vast estates and skyscrappers while leaving their homeland to rot. Each year, the same Igbos will troop enmass down to their homelands to perform the annual Christmas and Easter rituals in tattered roads and dusty villages. But it is very suprising that the same people will shurn to visit their homeland enmass for census programmes and voter registrations the same way they visited for Christmas and Easter! Ndi Igbo are arguably the most populous ethnic group in Nigeria and if not the richest. But we have continued to fail to utilize these uncommon strength and natural gift to our political and economic advantage. That Attahiru Jega was able to allocate over 20,000 extra polling units to his Northern part of the country as against other regions especially Igbo land was because of the population figures he derived there during the last voter registration. And these figures doesnt represent only the native ethnic groups found in the North, but majority and maximum percentage of them were Igbos. Whereas such population was hugely absent in Igbo land during the same period of registration. Why? We were all based abroad, mostly in the North. And we all got counted and registered there rather than coming down to our homeland to utilize our population strength. So Mr Jega must have distributed his polling units to each region based on the voter registration data at his disposal. Call that ethnic bias. Hes right. No be Nigeria we dey?? If you dont like it, do it for your own people when its your turn. The issue of gifting advantage to the North did not start with Jega. It has been an unwritten policy of his kinsmen and their allies. During state, local govt, districts and constituency creations, allocations and revenue distributions, the advantage always goes to the North because the Igbos give them the population advantage to exploit. If Igbos must stop grumbling and develop some wit, always do all your voter registration and census activities on your home land and stop empowering them to cheat you. So that when it is obvious that the population you registered in Igbo land is what you represent, you can now have a valid case to fight for. But right now, your case against Jega to me is not valid because you gave them the advantage. Only over 7 million voters were registered in the entire Igbo land during 2011 exercise as agains the entire North. Are Igbo eligible voters countrywide or worldwide just over 7 million?? Where are the rest that make up our great population?? Learn to build your skyscrappers, industries, vast estates and empires in Igbo land, so that they will stop using that advantage to malign you. Learn to empower your region politically and economically, so that they will stop using what you have to cheat you. If dem no fit allow you be president, you no fit use your numerical strength to do iyanga for them too?? Penultimate month, some Northern leaders had threatened to sieze some 4 trillion naira worth of investments of Ndi Igbo scattered all over the North if their citizens resident in Igbo land are threatened with expulsion. And our people quickly kept quiet. Stop blaming Jega. Learn to play the Nigeria politics in a fraudulent and dirty way it was structured and avoid being cheated. When the beating of the music of the spirits becomes so bad, learn to dance the bad dance so as to avoid being singled out by the spirits.
