The heaviness in me is moving deeper. I am happy about it. I was a very intense child growing up. I felt emotions I did not understand. I believed many people’s judgments of me. I was strong-headed, stayed, and fought a lot. I was told to fit the mold, do what was expected of me, and shut up. Isn’t it what family members do to each other? Somewhere along the line, The Thing (ego) made me believe I was too much too. I became afraid of myself and my own power. I used my brain to control my environment so I would control me. I was very proud of my self-discipline. I now see how ridiculous the whole thing was. I disciplined myself to keep The Thing stronger than ever; I ignored for the most part what I deeply wanted and needed for me. Dov Baron, thank you for helping me take that fall at the speaker program. It took massive energy, love, and commitment on your part to show up for me the way you did.
