For someone reason I am being lead to share a little something, because someone needs to know they are not alone. My mom and I never had a mother daughter relationship in the 40 years that I can remember. Due to some tragic circumstances in my childhood I harbored much bitterness, and anger towards her. To make a long story short, she had a major stroke, then another almost a year later. It wasnt until then that the Holy Spirit spoke to me....I immediately hit my knees and prayed for Him to give me the forgiveness in my heart towards her. It didnt happen over night, but I was still there for her through the process of her declining health. The last several months I had with her, I never left her side, and prayed with her, talked to her, sang to her, and I prepared myself for the time was near that she would be leaving this world. There was nothing more I wanted than to know for sure I would see her again. The amazing love and forgiveness the Lord gave to me I extended to her. There was never a night that I didnt tell her how much I truly loved her, understood her actions, and that I completely forgave her. It wasnt long after that hospice was called in and I was prepared for the news...less than 24 hours. I had a couple special people in my life that knew of the struggle between us, and was there to support me anyway I needed. Still to this day I have several who still question my actions of taking care of my mom after what she had done to me. So, I am here to tell you....God forgave us by giving us His only begotten Son for our sins, and we must be able to do the same. I have never felt so much contentment, and, peace...more than anything Id give to have more time with her. I made sure her plans were taken care of to the best of my ability and now without a shadow of a doubt I will see her again. Matter of fact she will be waiting for me at the gates of Heaven when the trumpets sound.
