The hell that was 3 hours without electricity are finally over. Everything I owned that held a charge was out of battery, dead devices lay around me, like fallen comrades in the trenches that was the living room floor. The silence while waiting, waiting and subsequently more waiting ate at my soul. My hand floating above my iPhone, wanting to at least check the time, as I could do nothing else. Remembering all the good times we had; listening to The Smiths or raiding a town in Clash of Clans. The minutes went on. My phones battery percentage drained one by one, racing the silver clock on the wall as it ticked away, my eyebrows raised, I was caught in the middle of a battle..a fight to be the last inanimate object standing, winning the ultimate prize in The Hunger Games for Electrical Appliances. A hollow victory bestowed the Clock on the wall, as my phone died within 10 minutes, for the mighty analogue gears knew nothing but time, and wasted little energy doing anything but surviving. The clock haunted me, tick tick tick...I had to resort to finding AA Batteries and attempting to use something called a C.D Player, the mirrored disks reflected the desperation in my eyes for anything, other than the sound of my own brain ticking along with the clock. I withstood and stood strong as 15 year old Hits stuttered and skipped through the iPhone earphones, the earphones purposely making the Walkman sound worse out of spite for being plugged into extinct technology Id assume.. Lasting no longer than my iPhone I threw the C.Ds across the room instead, a much better use. I was sat in silence once again. The rest was a blur, but I awoke at the sound of the dishwasher and sky box beep and woosh back to life...The silver clock lay smashed, the hands broken and twisted, what had happened in the time I blacked out?!..Tune in next time kids to find out!
