The holy Quran is a guide to good living and right conduct for entire mankind (2:185). The Quran has been the integral part of Islamic/Muslim life. Unfortunately, the teachings of the Quran/Islam have been perverted through the ages by the so-called Imam/Ulama/Mufti/Mullah etc by innovations, traditions (hadiths) and false doctrines. Islam is Deen, that is, social system/world system (Quran 3:19 & 85, 5:3) for entire mankind. This is to be noted that the Islam is not priesthood. There is no priesthood in Islam.
