The home of the Publick House, Sturbridge,Mass. is at the crossroads of New England. We were lucky enough to have been welcomed there New Years Eve, for an informal overnight investigation. After midnight, we set up equipment & began perusing the place. We started in an upstairs, empty, kind of party room. We said our protection prayer. It was silent in the building. The readings were zero. The Rem Pod was quiet. We headed for the Library, where we did our 1st EVP session. Amidst the tattered books on multiple cases & the painting of a colonial looking stern gentleman, hung across from a beautiful mahogany conference table, we listened, photographed & asked questions. Nothing much happened. We then went to the hallway & out of the way area with a small room with a table, clock & tree. It was very cold in this area & felt eerie & odd. I asked for some conversation. Heard nothing. Eventually, we headed back to our room. Apparently, THAT was where some spirits may have been waiting for us! ..continued in...Part II.
