The humans shall have responsibility, not power. - (Indian quote) Whilst people, after having seen the awarded eco-documentation “The Cove”, are looking horrified and disgusted towards Japan, it often is overlooked, that a similar gruesomely Dolphin-massacre is taking place directly at our european door steps. On the Faroe Islands /Denmark in the North-Atlantic, Pilot whales and other Dolphin-species every august fall victim to a cruel Tradition, which is absolutely compareable with the slaughter in Taiji. Between 2007 and 2011 have been killed 3.359 dolphins, corresponding an average of 672 per year. The european law is protecting all species of dolphins, it is banned hunting them. But in the seas around the Faroe-Islands, outside the EU, there are counting other laws and practices. The pilot-whales, known for their highly developed social- and family-sense, with an armada of speed-boats they get driven in big family-groups into the coves. With knives and hooks the cornered animals get maltreated so long, till finally death relieves them of their torturous agony. This tradition is inacceptable, and ignoble of an civilized and modern society !!! SHAME ON YOU DENMARK !!!!!
