I thought of posting any number of Keith Jarrett performances, or, Alone Together (the album) by Karriem Riggins, but Ive been heavily drawn to unconventional musics lately.... Generally non-functional tonalities and extended techniques. Krzysztov Pendereckis music is mind blowing... Truly, the most beautifully frightening music ever written. To write music that induces such genuine terror is a rare talent. Given the brink we all cling to in this nuclear era, Fukushima fallout, and what seems to be a dark future, I thought this piece would be worth sharing, even on this sublime summer solstice.
