The idea of this movie doesnt appeal to me to say the least. Perhaps snipers are a necessary evil in war but they have always been in the shadows for good reason until now. Lee Harvey Oswald was also a sniper. While I honor military service, I just dont think a sniper should be revered in the same way. Along with veterans and the military I prefer to honor those who feed the poor and the hungry, house the homeless and fight for social justice. I think a sniper who felt bad about killing another human would be more human and real. Im glad the movie portrays him as being troubled but from what Ive read the actual book written by this guy doesnt.
