The immigration issue is NOT a race issue. Neither to me, nor to - TopicsExpress

The immigration issue is NOT a race issue. Neither to me, nor to others that make use of the wisdom which we have been blessed with. Let me explain. Every year, the Family agrees to bake a pie that will last until the following year. The 1st pie is made with all the ingredients to make it tasty and large enough for all the family members plus the occasional extra slice for the unexpected. The pie is then placed in the oven to bake while another pie is prepared. After the 2nd pie is fully prepared, the 1st pie is removed from the oven after the needed time to bake fully and the 2nd pie is put in its place. This goes on and on with the Family occasionally but not habitually needing to “borrow” a cup of sugar or flour but never the filling. And it is understood that a quid pro quo exists for the “borrowed” ingredients. As the Family grows, the ingredients are increased to allow for the growth and predicted future growth so that all may have a slice of the pie as the needs arrive. Ingredients are bought and paid for. The pie pan is replaced at regular intervals based on projected growth of the Family. And, at times, the Family is able to provide a slice to neighbors in need. One day, after generations of this workable family baking system, a new Patriarch decides that neighbors and strangers are now part of the Family. These neighbors have not contributed in the past and thru their own poor planning and familial anarchy have not even the barest of ingredients to bake a pie for their *own* family. The Patriarch also orders that the other half of the Family do the work necessary to feed the new family members AND the new members can reside in the Family’s house! The Patriarch and half of his Family agree to share whatever pie the Family has with the new family members while ignoring the needs of his own family and making the new families a priority. When the other half of the Family raises an objection or points out that this system of baking and housing cannot be sustained, they are called heartless, accused of wanting the neighbors to go hungry or homeless, accused of being neighbor-phobes, of already having too large a slice, or greedy. Meanwhile, the neighbors are inviting *their* families into their *new* home and the Patriarch and his half of the family insist that the Family must bake for the families of the neighbors, house them, and learn their language. The Family’s budget is soon exhausted of funds. A larger stove, larger pans, increased ingredients with a larger pantry for the ingredients, and extra utensils have all needed to be purchased. Loans have had to be taken out to cover the increased expenses that the new families have made necessary by order of the Patriarch. Being as the Patriarch and his supporters still insist that all be fed to the detriment of *His* family, the loans have little chance of being paid back while interest accrues causing the Family to go without needed supplies and forgoing all wants and desires. When any effort is made to cut back pies to the neighbors and their families, the neighbors, their families, and the Patriarch demand that not only will they still be supported but also need the pies cooked to *their * tastes. This requires even more loans to be taken out and even more sacrifice by the Family. And then, after years of frustration and useless sacrifice by the half of the Family providing for a family they never planned for, the Patriarch and his family are no longer able to ask for support because there is no more to be had and the system is no longer able to provide for anyone. Angry words are exchanged but angry words don’t bake pies. Promises are made but one can’t live in promises. The Family cannot even provide for its own needs or even for the emergencies of the family members loyal to the Patriarch. And the Family dies. Immigration is not a race issue, it is an economic issue. Immigration is based on the rule of law, not about supporting those who have no respect for our laws. Immigration is about sustaining our Constitutional Republic, NOT on the emotional pleading of “SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING!”~GunnyDoug
