The important thing about writing a history is to articulate that - TopicsExpress

The important thing about writing a history is to articulate that which reader will not forget. Given any battle there are certain things historians always write about that is generally found in most histories of said battle. I want to know how we (they got there) and I want to know what we dont see to know about the rest of the battle. The mission statement of both sides etc. Chipyong-ni is refered to at the Gettysburg of the Korean War - the turning point of the back and forth, take hill, lose hill take hill lose hill combat. How did the 23rd occupy Chipyong-ni unopposed. Why wasnt there a Chinese force in front of them? Why didnt the Chinese attack down the main avenue of approach from the North? What happen in the South West and the Northern front? Instead of the heavy losses why was the success not written about?
