The inconvenient truths you hear from outside when you dont want to tell yourself A few days ago when Mugabe was using Nigeria as the poster boy for corruption, instead of telling ourselves the truth that the country is in a mess and it is time for drastic action to take our country back from the vampires, some of our peeps were wasting energy on attacking Mugabe... Our man himself at every twist and turn is downplaying the impact of corruption.. when he is not saying it is over-rated, he will tell us that corruption is not the problem with Nigeria....Okay o....we havent even properly let the shock of Mugabe sink in when reports have it again that the Pakistani President has cancelled a trip to Nigeria citing insecurity.... rewind to one of Ogas famous quotes, terrorism is a global thing that happens turn by turn, so we should accept it as our turn. It is really sad that Mugabe who doesnt have a record as squeaky clean himself is finding the moral authority to denounce the corruption in another country... It is really sad when Pakistan that housed Osama Bin Laden for years can be denouncing terrorism in another country.... The moral of the tale is that even rot has grades.....Our case is certainly not helped by the tone at the top (body language) being projected by those who should take responsibility for addressing these festering problems ... if our oga is busy minimizing rather than addressing big issues, even outsiders will read the body language and make their narratives based on what they see.... A man who rather than focus on overhauling systems to contain and combat corruption and corrupt individuals is busy rehabilitating them with pardons and appointments cannot be taken seriously even if he claims to be combatting corruption..... A man who rather than face terrorism frontally is more content with sending messages that the problem we have is not unusual in the global context; cannot be taken seriously by outsiders..... A president who rather than show adequate empathy to victims of terrorism (who are citizens he should be responsible for) finds it more expedient to irresponsibly go out campaigning within 24 hours cannot be taken seriously even by outsiders. Before you know it now, the cyber-rats will start claiming that Mugabe and Pakistani President are agents of the opposition or they are fighting a tribal agenda.
