The incredible wisdom of our government; S-CHIP (State Childrens Health Insurance Program), is a program administered by the United States Department of Health and Human Services that provides matching funds to states for health insurance to families with children. The program was designed to cover uninsured children in families with incomes that are modest but too high to qualify for Medicaid and the program is funded by cigarette tax. To date the government (United States Department of Health and Human Services) has spent hundreds of millions of dollars telling people to stop smoking in effect shutting down the very source of revenue they selected to fund a program for children’s health care which means like all other government “social” programs this one is going to run out of money and just be funded with play money.
