The integrity of our senior citizens often overwhelms me. We, as a society, should strive to listen and learn from them. While awaiting to meet with a physician, a gentleman proudly wearing his WWII cap came into the office. I, of course, made conversation. When his name was called, the receptionist said Im glad that you were able to come after all. He then pulled a 100$ bill from his wallet and with tear filled eyes said I pawned the my sweet wife of 67 years wedding ring. You can call me a bleeding heart, I dont care. He and his generation are the Epitome of Integrity. I consider it an honor and privilege to serve those who paved the way for you and I to have the freedoms and liberties we have today. For the record, I offered to assist but he is a man who pays his debts. He explained that his wife had passed away this year. He apologized for the tears that he had shed. I responded by saying Oh My Goodness, Youre Fine. He then responded by saying No honey, but I surely was fine back in the day. Needless to say, I have a New Best Friend. It is a bountiful blessing to be paid to pursue my passion. Have I told you all lately just how much I love what I do? Consider it done for today.
