The issue I have with Pete Rose being banned from baseball and an opportunity to get in the Hall of Fame is this... he was betting ON HIS TEAM. Simply because money was exchanged and policies were violated. On the most humanely-moral level, I suppose it is a good thing that this rule is being enforced so heavily, but Id like to think every manager would be willing to bet on their guys in their clubhouses across all forms of professional baseball if betting was mandatory. If you dont believe in your team enough to put something valuable on the line, you shouldnt be managing.
