The jobs we do at GaRT Design are often varied and we always endeavor to meet the hopes and expectations of those we making or modifying projects for and a case in point is a table I recently modified for a client who is also a fellow member and friend in a car club I am part of. They say you should never work for friends and family as if expectations arent met then relationships can suffer....... I am very happy to say that this relationship is still very much intact :-) The table in question was a 1500 x 1500 stained and polished Blackwood table that was to be modified to new size of 1800 x 1000. The table had 500mm taken out of the center (with the grain) then rejoined to make top 1500 x 1000 and split in center again (across the grain) with 300mm of the 500mm originally removed added across the width to make the finish size 1800 x 1000. New rails were made then top was sanded restained and polished so that you would never have know it was modified. Table has since been re-delivery to a very happy owner (and were still friends :-) ) PS: I forgot to get a before photo but you can see it was completely altered
