The joys of Birmingham I arrived at Birmingham international - TopicsExpress

The joys of Birmingham I arrived at Birmingham international airport this afternoon intending to take the 10 minutes ride to Birmingham New Street. Due to fatalities on the track all trains to Birmingham was suspended. I felt sad for the person who died and prayed for the soul to rest in peace. I took a local bus number 97 to Birmingham City centre. It was slow and going through the scenic inner city Birmingham. I got off the bus at a point where I thought I recognised the locality. But actually I had no idea where I was. It started to rain so I run and took shelter under a tree. I saw a taxi passing by and raised my hand to request it to stop. The taxi driver, an Asian elderly gentleman asked me where I was going. He drove me there and when I asked him how much he simply said, nothing. I looked at him quizzingly and insisting on paying but he was adamant that I should just get out of his car and enjoy the rest of my day. I gracefully accepted his generosity. As soon as I stepped on the road the rain became even more intense. I run forward and saw a restaurant marked halal carribean food. I quickly entered and took a closer look at the menu. I had never had carribean food before so I was slightly unsure but at the same time I was very hungry. I told the owner that I had never eaten carribean food and would like him to serve me something nice. I can tell you all that his food was one of the best I have eaten in many weeks in a restaurant. I had jerk chicken, rice and peas, fried dumplin and coleslaw. It was a delicious meal and I will be coming back. If you are in Birmingham and looking for nice meal that wont burn your tongue, hurt your belly and damage your digestive tracts this is the place, its called Plates of the Caribbean on Muntz street.
