The kids and I were chatting and we got on the topic of what my life was like as a teenager. There were blown away that there was no facebook, youtube, cellphones, Netflix or rokus. Sophie seemed appalled and asked Oh wow. Was it awful?! I felt sad when I had to answer her No. It was amazing. I feel bad my kids will miss out on the simplicity of teenage life... hanging out without smartphones, driving around without a destination, really laughing without thinking what a great shot it would be for instragram.
