The kids had a good time at their dads and grandparents. Today we - TopicsExpress

The kids had a good time at their dads and grandparents. Today we skyped with my parents. I try to do this once a week so they can see the kids since they live 5 hours away. My children are the only grandchildren they have. They of course love seeing the kiddos! Emma and Gunner both said hi! Emmas new thing is to say hi gege. She said this to her Grandma Olson this weekend and skype with Grandma Reischel so I am pretty sure gege is for grandma. Just like she says Papa for grandpa!!! She is doing so great holding her bottle! She takes fish oil and she took it in her bottle tonight like a champ!!! It was strawberry flavored! Research has shown that brain injury patients benefit greatly from fish oil. It stops the inflammation in the brain and helps it repair itself. I started Doodlebug on this months ago after I looked into it and I got the doctors approval. The difference was simply amazing. She had an MRI at the same time and there was no changes from the last scan. So I really believe the fish oil has played an important part in her recovery. The key is using pure fish oil-I use Nordic Naturals. I know that this is not for everyone and I respect that :) I just want to give my daughter every opportunity to get better :) Anyways I was giving the fish oil thru her g tube and I am trying to get her to start taking her meds by mouth instead of by a g-tube. This is an important step to get her tube out as it currently is being used for meds and 2 water flushes. Tomorrow she starts another wean reduction in her seizure medication dose. This will put her at half the dose of seizure medication she was on in the hospital! Please keep praying for no seizures! Tomorrow is also the day I reduce her diuretic and potassium medication as the doctor ordered. On Wednesday she will have labs drawn. If the labs are off it will show that her pituitary gland is permanently damaged and will need lifelong medication use-just not a diuretic. I am praying that her pituitary gland was not damaged and her initial signs of diabetes inspidus were just temporary as the result of the accident. Please please pray this is the case!!! I love this picture of Gunner and Milo-best buds they are :)
