The labels we allow ourselves to be branded with - left, right, Republican, Democrat, conservative, liberal, black, white, citizen, immigrant - are failing us. But they are working very well for those who are out to divide and conquer. We buy into the Fox and the MSNBC propaganda, we believe and WE OURSELVES, WE THE PEOPLE propagate the mindless incendiary Facebook memes. WE grow suspicious of each other and out of that fear and ignorance we forfeit our rights and our hard-earned prosperity to the politicians and the war-profiteers and the corporate plunderers - these architects of the new oligarchy, these engineers of the ever-vigililant, jacked, juiced, and armed-for-oppression police state. Every day you work side-by-side with a person who struggles just as hard as you do to make ends meet, who, like you, just cant make sense of whats become of us. But because this person has bought into a different corporate-produced narrative of what happened in Ferguson or in Benghazi, this is whom you blame for our woes. And this person in turn and right-on-script blames you. Meanwhile, the peddlers of these narratives grow fat, happy and obscenely powerful.
