The last 24 hours has been crazy on FB :) I may never understand the way Christians think:) I truly feel like an outsider to most of the Christian world. I don;t understand how they think about Church, the bible, theology or pretty much anything. I have never understood why I seem to be in so much conflict with Christians. I truly have gotten along with atheist in many cases far better! The way Christians engage in conversation about music and at times their extreme reaction to the subjects is always confusing to me. I dont know if the concept of faith hinders the idea of logical and careful thought. I want to thank Jeremy Hull for showing a godly and humble spirit today in the face of one of the craziest debate about music that I have ever seen Christians engage in. 2,000 years, one bible and Christians still cannot agree on simple things like, Water! Who should be baptized, when should they be baptized, how much water should be used, what does baptism do or not do. 2,000 years and one bible and Christians still cannot agree on Bread and Wine. Who should take the Lords supper, how should it be conducted, what does it do or not do, what should we use, wine or grape juice. Literally there is so little agreement that it is freighting. For many, truth no longer matters. The are just content to let everyone believe what they want and almost ignore the idea of absolute truth. I know someone will argue that there is a lot of agreement but for everything you mention I can find probably 15 different views somewhere within Christianity. It truly saddens me. One Bible, 235,0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 differences. Something to ponder . The Catholic church argued that if the ordinary people got the bile in their own languages and had easy access to it and tried to interpret themselves this would happen. If we look around, they were right. Not saying their solution is better just acknowledging a historical reality. Something to ponder and meditate on
