The last couple of days have been a little emotional. Yesterday started with a tire blow out. Im so thankful for great friends who went above and beyond to help me out in so many ways. Im still too irritated with police officers and towing companies to have a calm or rational discussion on the subject. However, I do want to caution anyone in NW Harris County who may find themselves in need of a tow. Be very wary of tow truck drivers associated with CNR Towing out of Hockley. I was made aware of the towing fee prior to being hooked up. At no point did the driver say it needed to be in cash only. He waited to drop that little gem until we were at the dealership with my truck still attached to his. He went so far as to threaten to impound my vehicle. He refused a credit card or check from me. He also refused a PO or check from the dealership. Thankfully my friend who was bringing me home had cash. I called the towing company once I was home to find out if they accept credit cards and was told yes. After telling the owner what happened, he then said he doesnt accept them on tows mandated by sheriffs officers and began placing blame on me and the dealership. Ive filed a report with the Texas Department of Licensing in Austin. Ive placed a call to the division of Harris County that regulates tow drivers. Still waiting to hear back so I can file a complaint there.
