The last day of Bumps was decently sunny until the 3rd Women’s division, after which everyone endured a more English interpretation of “summer”. W4 finished on a high what for most crew members was their first ever Bumps campaign. They sought and got revenge for yesterday’s mishap, bumping Fitzwilliam W3 halfway between the motorway bridge and first post corner after a steady, powerful row. W3 were chasing Peterhouse W2, closing the gap between them to about half a boat length. However, Peterhouse bumped up just after Ditton corner, and W3 concluded their bumps campaign by rowing over. After bumping during the two previous days, W2 were extra keen on getting greenery again. Their start was shaky as the boat struggled to find a good line for the first couple of strokes. After adjusting their position on the river, W2 made for Selwyn W2: several strong ”power for ten” calls sealed the deal, and W2 bumped up after the motorway bridge. W1, after rowing over three days in a row, showed no sign of tiredness on the river. As King’s W1 bumped Magdalen W1 just after first post corner, they were in front of the entire division for the rest of the race, and increased the distance between them and Fitzwilliam W1 to just over four boat lengths by the end. MECBC—WELL HARD.
