The last few weeks have been a roller coaster. Getting the news that Mariana was gong to have a transplant because Gladys was a match and would be her living donor was the best news we could’ve heard. Then came the bad news of not being able to cover the costs and in the midst of felling hopeless and angry and upset, we found light in the people that we call our friends, our co-workers and our community. Our family was feeling very alone and helpless and each person that contacted people they knew, donated, and just shared their kind words of encouragement made us realize that there was more we could do and that our fight was not over. Today we would like to share some very good news with all our friends that have been a part of this process. Mariana’s transplant was finally approved financially and was only rescheduled for a day after. She will be going into surgery August 8th thanks to all of your help. Jackson is willing to help and with the donations the donor’s surgery should be covered now. We can’t be any more thankful for everything. This means a lot to our families and us. So thanks again and please know that everything everyone did for us is greatly appreciated and will be helping our daughter have a better life and to keep going with her amazing dreams. Las ultimas semanas han sido una Montaña Rusa para nosotros. Desde que supimos que Mariana iba a tener su trasplate porque Gladys era compatible e iba a ser su donante viva, fueron las mejores noticias que hemos oido en largo tiempo. Luego nos dieron la mala noticia que no ibamos a poder cubrir los costos de la operacion. Pero en medio de la desesperanza y la angustia, encontramos luz en la gente que llamamos nuestros amigos, nuestros companeros de trabajo y nuestra comunidad. Nos sentiamos muy solos y sin ayuda pero cada persona que contacto gente, que dono, o compartio con nosotros palabras de aliento, nos hizo darnos cuenta que habia mas que podiamos hacer y que nuestra lucha no habia terminado. Hoy queremos compartir algunas buenas noticias con todos nuestros amigos que han sido parte de este proceso. El trasplante de Mariana fue finalmente aprobado y fue reprogramado para el dia 8 de Agosto. Ella va a ser finalmente operada gracias a la ayuda de todos ustedes. El Hospital Jackson Memorial esta dispuesto a ayudar y con las donaciones recibidas hasta ahora, la cirugia del donante deberia estar cubierta. No podemos estar mas agradecidos por todo lo sucedido; esto significa mucho para nuestras familias y para nosotros.
