The last full day started with nice clean kit, supplied by Killerton Road Cleaning Company and a new driver, ex club member and Holman Youth team mate when we were juniors, Paul Curtis. Left Crantock for the a short cycle into Newquay and my first stop of the day at Fistral Beach, just as the first heat of Boardmasters was starting. Enjoyed an early morning tea with members of Newquay surf club and then bumped into Emily Currie on my way out of Fistral. Moved on to Lusty and then got my driver to take me to Fifteen for breakfast, unfortunately Jamie was away on business. Continued up the north Cornish coast to Harlyn and across the Camel estuary by ferry and onto Polzeath. Lots of people know of the beaches of Polzeath and Daymer Bay, but the beaches on the Padstow side of the river are a hidden gem. From Polzeath we continued up the coast to Trebarwith and encountered as steep a gradient I think I have ever gone down, it almost seemed verticle. After an ice cream outside Tintagel Surf Club I cycled up probably the longest continuous ascent of the trip, Trebarwith to Davidstow, before coming down to Otterham and seeing Bude for the first time in three weeks, awsome. Great reception at Crackington, with their club members coming over to The Combe Barton, to join in a celebratory drink or three. Great to see Pam, Geoff and Dave and also Jodie and Trevor, along with my hosts for the night Anthony, Hannah and Emma. Thank you all for a lovely evening. Nearly there. JustGiving/Adrian-Parsons1953
