The last post brought out a considerable response from several NIMBYs (Not In My Backyarders) and other Speed Kills serial do-gooders, primarily from Victoria, that believe that if you dont speed, you dont get caught... If speed limits were reasonable and prudent in the first instance, people wouldnt be caught for such minor infringements, that are issued primarily for revenue raising purposes, not safety. Additionally, simply suggesting to simply do the speed limit suggests a one size fits all approach. Never mind reducing speed in the case of adverse weather conditions, i.e, fog, rain, ice et al... Very cretinous. Here is some valuable information on nations that have increased their motorway speed limits, and the ACTUAL success they have proved to be.
